Workflow
Workflow Breakdown
- Item (SKU):
- The item level is where all the sales volume will be brought into Adesso from the ERP system.
- Promotion plans and sales forecasting can also be done at the SKU level, although it is common when promoting products, that they are promoted together along with like items (same price points, same package size etc.).
- These groups are typically referred to as promoted product groups.
- Promoted Product Groups
- As mentioned above, items are typically grouped together for promotion planning and sales forecasting. Instead of having to plan several items individually, they can be grouped and planned all together. The vast majority of sales activity will happen at this level
- Typically items of the same brand/category that share the same pack size (eg. 6 pack 12oz box) but have different “flavors” or “recipes” are grouped as PPG’s
- Brand/Category Grouping
- By grouping different PPG’s into a brand or category, sales and trade spending can be aggregated, reported on and managed at a brand or category level
- Company Total
- Finally, all the brand/category will “roll up” to a company total level.
